KDC Dancer Residency Program
Dancers chosen for the residency program will represent Kingdom Dance Collective both inside and outside of classes. They will serve as a Beacon of Integrity in the dance community regardless of where they are dancing and who they are dancing with. Resident dancers will be given opportunities to assist teachers, showcase choreography, have one on one mentoring sessions, be a forefront in marketing on social media, assist with company auditions, tuition scholarships and more as the role and the future of KDC further develops. This program is by invitation only and is separate from the KDC Performance Company audition process.
A Beacon is defined as a source of light or inspiration. More specifically it is a light or other visible object serving as a signal, warning, or guide. In a world where it is easy to get lost in a crowd of mediocrity, a beacon provides a clear path to greatness. We are called to be beacons of light in the darkness.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven. - Matthew 5:13-16
Integrity is defined as the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change. It is the state of being whole and undivided. Integrity is doing the right thing even when it’s the hardest choice, regardless of what others may say or do.
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. -1 Peter 3:13-18
